In order to maintain stability and flexibility in West Texas, additional 100MVAR 345kV shunt reactors were added to ETT’s Tesla, Edith Clarke, Clear Crossing, and Riley stations. On September 28, 2017, the first new 345kV reactor was placed in-service at the Tesla station. On November 30, 2017, the second new 345kV reactor was placed in-service at the Edith Clarke station. On February 28, 2018, the third new 345kV reactor was placed in-service at the Clear Crossing station. Lastly, on August 8, 2018, the remaining two new 345kV reactors associated with this project were placed in-service at the Riley station.
