Electric Transmission Texas LLC (ETT) completed construction of a new 138-kilovolt (kV) transmission line connecting the existing American Electric Power Texas North Company’s (“TNC”) Alamito Creek Substation located in Marfa, Texas and to a new substation located in Presidio, Texas on June 6, 2012. The Electric Reliability Council of Texas Independent System Operator (ERCOT ISO) determined that the line was necessary for the continued reliability of the ERCOT Region transmission system. Specifically the proposed line addresses numerous transmission service problems to the loads served by the existing TNC 69 kV transmission line from Marfa Alamito Creek to Presidio and is also necessary to support the continued growth in the Presidio area.
ETT is a new transmission utility co-owned by subsidiaries of American Electric Power (AEP) and Berkshire Hathaway Energy Company. AEP is the parent company of AEP Texas North Company (TNC).
